HAZID/HAZOP Studies
HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) involves a thorough and systematic review of an existing or planned process or operation. Its aim is to pinpoint and evaluate issues that might pose risks to personnel or equipment, or hinder efficient operation.
HAZOP Objectives:
- Identify all deviations from intended system functions, their causes, and the associated hazards and operability issues.
- Determine if actions are necessary to control these hazards and operability issues, and identify solutions.
- Recognize situations where immediate decisions can't be made and determine what information or actions are needed.
- Ensure follow-up on the decided actions.
- Increase operator awareness of hazards and operability issues.
